The ‘Sardelada’ of the Portatori della Madonna di Barbana is a characteristic event in July, which takes place in Campo Patriarca Elia, and is awaited not only by citizens but also by many tourists. This food and wine event provides the opportunity to taste various fish-based culinary proposals, such as sardines (called ‘sardele’ in Grado), which are widespread throughout the Mediterranean but are a fundamental ingredient of Grado's cuisine. Sardines are proposed in different ways: preserved in salt and then in oil (e.g. those produced by the Lagunando company, the ‘Isolane’), or breaded and fried or ‘in savor’, or even in ‘scotadeo’ (cooked in a pan after being washed only in sea water).
From a nutritional point of view, ‘sardines’, which fall into the category of oily fish, are an excellent food: they are rich in the famous Omega-3, which has many health benefits, especially at a cardiovascular level. Come and taste the goodness of oily fish in the heart of Grado!
Dates: 11, 12, 13; 25, 26, 27 July 2025.
Kiosks open at 6.00 p.m.
